Intel is billing Intel Distribution for Apache Hadoop software as an important open platform for next-gen analytics. The solution features an up to 30x boost in Hadoop performance and is optimized (no surprises here) for Intel Xeon processors, Intel SSD storage, and Intel 10GbE networking. The integration of the Pentaho software adds a nice set of additional capabilities to the Intel offering.
