Most data–structured, semi-structured and unstructured–has a purpose in a world where it is amassed in enormous amounts by organizations across all industries. Caserta Concepts understands that analyzing this data is hugely important in driving smart business decisions. We caught up with the company’s President, Joe Caserta, to discuss these topics and more.

insideBIGDATA: Joe, your company announced a partnership with Datastax awhile back. How did this partnership come about?

Joe Caserta: Caserta Concepts is a leading big data innovation and implementation services organization. Among our areas of specialization is the development of solutions to meet the volume and variety of data and overall speed demands of the financial services sector.

Always looking to work with innovative, dynamic technologies, we recognize that Cassandra is fast becoming the de facto standard for high volume, high velocity transactions and data analytics – and Datastax offers an enterprise-class NoSQL solution, built on the Cassandra platform. In 2013, Caserta & Datastax partnered successfully to implement a real-time big data analytics solution for a leading bank in NYC using Datastax’s Enterprise (DSE) with Cassandra at its core. This was the start of a great relationship between the two companies..

insideBIGDATA: What does it mean for the respective companies?

Joe Caserta: By combining leading technologies and the enterprise solutions offered by Datastax, with the innovative, world-class services that Caserta Concepts is known for, the partnership means improved support for big data analytics in general and Cassandra users in any industry sector.

insideBIGDATA: Please tell us a little bit more about what Caserta does for its customers.

Joe Caserta: Caserta Concepts is a New York-based innovation consulting and technology services firm that specializes in big data analytics, data warehousing and business intelligence. We collaborate with global Fortune 1000 clients, working with CIOs to help them gain new business insights through a better understanding of their data. Among other areas, a good deal of our work is in the financial services, healthcare, higher education and ecommerce sectors. The company was formed in 2001, and by making innovation and quality our primary mission, we have experienced consistent and steady growth since that time.

insideBIGDATA: In this new alliance, who are you targeting as potential customers?

Joe Caserta: There is a great deal of opportunity as companies of all sizes and market-sectors become aware of the power of their data and the need to leverage that power to support business goals. Our clients tend to be companies that are leaders in innovative technology solutions to gain the competitive edge. Current and new clients constantly ask us for strategic direction and support on Big Data initiatives, and our partnership with Datastax enables us to better provide those services to our customers. We will continue to focus on our core markets of Financial services, Healthcare and eCommerce – but the opportunities are really limitless.

insideBIGDATA: What will this partnership with Datastax mean for your Big Data offerings?

Joe Caserta: We are able to offer state-of-the art commercial support for Apache projects with the complete confidence that we can deliver on our promise to our clients. It is a market imperative to offer clients stable solutions, driving value and speed to market.

insideBIGDATA: As this partnership matures, what can you see coming in, say, 3-4 years especially on the Big Data side?

Joe Caserta: There are many viable options, but our sense is that Cassandra may well become the standard in the enterprise data ecosystem. Of the new NoSQL databases born within the past few years, we feel Cassandra is the leading platform with all the features needed to meet our clients’ unique big data requirements. At this time of exciting technology “disruption” – the most I have seen in my 25 years in the business – I see great opportunity for tech companies like Datastax to increasingly be part of the innovative solutions provided by Caserta Concepts.
