InfiniDB announced it will be showcasing its SQL-on-Hadoop query engine at the Hadoop Summit, June 3-5 in San Jose.  InfiniDB has been committed to the Hadoop community since first launching a Hadoop connector to InfiniDB in 2011.  Last fall, the company introduced an even more robust solution: InfiniDB for Apache Hadoop, where organizations can access Hadoop natively with InfiniDB to deliver real time SQL-in-Hadoop.  In the first quarter of 2014, a benchmark, “Open-Source SQL-on-Hadoop Performance,” was conducted by Radiant Advisors and revealed how fast and scalable InfiniDB was in comparison to other open-source SQL-on-Hadoop query engines.  Recently, more news about the company’s commitment to the Hadoop platform, as it is now part of the Hortonworks Technology Partner Program.

We see a large number of organizations dipping their toes in Hadoop, without always knowing what the end result and intention of the Hadoop data will be,” commented Kathleen O’Neil, VP of Marketing at InfiniDB. InfiniDB is a data platform designed from the inception for large scale, real-time ad hoc reporting and high performance dimensional analytics.  Our industry leading price-for-performance SQL-on-Hadoop query engine makes InfiniDB the perfect fit for organizations that are looking to capitalize on the value of Hadoop without their Big Data becoming a burden or constraint.”

A series of tech talks from InfiniDB will take place at the Hadoop Summit in Booth G9.  Additionally, a fireside chat, “A Taxonomy of Big Data Technologies,” will be hosted at the San Jose Convention Center on Tuesday, June 3rd, from 12:50-1:10 pm by Dipti Joshi, a Data Architect and Product Marketing Manager at InfiniDB.
