SGI_logo_platinum_smlToday SGI announced that the company has opened a new subsidiary called SGI GmbH that will operate as an SAP Center of Excellence in Heidelberg, Germany as part of a strategic move to more closely support SAP business initiatives.

Whether managing complex implementation projects or providing user support and training, our goal is to optimize the use of SAP products, providing end users with a best-value, cost-effective experience. As one of the innovative leaders in in-memory technology, we look forward to working closely with the SAP team to help our customers continue to unlock the value of their data,” said Jorge Titinger, president and CEO of SGI.

The Center, which will open by October 31, 2014 and will be led by SGI Chief Operating Officer, Cassio Conceicao, from the SGI corporate headquarters in Milpitas, CA will support key operations that further the SAP and SGI strategic partnership. Technical engineering resources will help keep SGI appliances with SAP HANA® up and running 24/7, year round. The Center will also focus on SAP-related business and application expertise to support SAP customers globally, designing new processes and optimizing current operations in the SAP environment.

The new subsidiary will take responsibility for all go-to-market activities around SAP in Germany and Central Europe and will act as the technical hub for all SGI subsidiaries in developing SAP HANA solutions.

The new subsidiary gives SGI a dedicated presence for collaborative development of SAP solutions in the important German and European markets. The market for SAP HANA solutions is set to grow significantly in Europe over the years to come and I am very much looking forward to building up our local team and establishing SGI as the clear market leader of scalable HANA solutions,” said Conceicao.

As an existing SAP global technology partner, SGI is developing an in-memory appliance based on the SAP HANA® platform, which consolidates applications and data analytics for businesses at extreme scale, without complexity. The new in-memory appliance, combining SGI’s next-generation UV™ system with SAP HANA, was previewed at the SAPPHIRE NOW conference in June this year.
