Vormetric_logoVormetric, a leader in enterprise data security for physical, big data, public, private and hybrid cloud environments, has announced their partnership with Couchbase, the company that delivers a complete, scalable and high performing NoSQL database. Vormetric enhances the existing security features already available from Couchbase with protection for data-at-rest that includes encryption, enhanced access controls and security intelligence.

With Vormetric’s single platform for data security, organizations can maintain compliance and safely use sensitive data within the Couchbase platform, protecting data stores at the file system level, as well as within the data store at the field or column level.

Growing adoption of Couchbase by the Fortune 500 requires us to deliver the most advanced enterprise-class security features,” said Rod Hamlin, vice president of business development, Couchbase. “Our partnership with Vormetric gives our customers best in class security controls needed for compliance, data breach protection and for safeguarding critical intellectual property through powerful data-at-rest encryption, key management and access controls to our platform.”

  • Vormetric Transparent Encryption provides data encryption at the file or volume level without modification of existing infrastructure or applications and at hardware encryption enabled speeds. The solution includes access controls to enforce least privileged access and security intelligence information that can help organizations identify malicious attacks on sensitive data.
  • Vormetric Application Encryption enables developers to easily add encryption to existing applications so that individual fields (such as social security numbers, passwords, addresses and phone numbers) remain secure and compliant within the Couchbase platform, and in analytic reports.
  • Vormetric’s single platform for data protection results in low cost of ownership, improved resource usage and simplified implementations.

Many organizations are unable to reap the full benefits of cloud and big data environments because the use of sensitive information creates a red-flag with their compliance office,” said Tina Stewart, vice president of marketing for Vormetric. “Vormetric helps these enterprises make full use of these new resources by addressing security, risk reduction, data privacy and compliance needs.”
