MapR Technologies, Inc., provider of a top-ranked distribution for Apache™ Hadoop®, announced the immediate availability of three Quick Start Solutions for the MapR Distribution including Apache Hadoop. These solutions address commonly-implemented and high-value Hadoop use cases for Data Warehouse Optimization and Analytics, Security Log Analytics and Recommendation Engines.
MapR Quick Start Solutions enable customers to realize faster time-to-value with their Hadoop implementations. Each solution incorporates best practices and knowledge gained from years of hands-on experience from data scientists and engineers who have built successful big data applications for customers leveraging Hadoop.

Details of each Quick Start Solution
Each Quick Start Solution is tailored around a specific solution area and includes data ingest modules, solution templates, two to four weeks of professional services, integrated training, and a small Hadoop cluster that can easily be expanded based on the solution requirements. Details of the three solution areas include:
- Data Warehouse Optimization and Analytics Solution – gives customers the flexibility to use Hadoop with their data warehouse to reduces overall system cost by performing transformations on Hadoop and freeing up previously used storage and capacity. In addition, customers have the ability to add more types and sources of data into the MapR Distribution for more granular and richer analytics across the combined Hadoop and data warehouse solution.
- Security Log Analytics Solution – enables analysis of historical data as well as real-time analysis of large volumes of security data, which can help in early detection of advanced and unknown threats. This solution augments existing Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions by providing cost-effective storage and processing for deep analytics and by predicting anomalous behavior within the environment to identify unknown threats.
- Recommendation Engine Solution – helps businesses increase revenues and customer loyalty by delivering real-time offers for products and services that combine past transactions, customer behavior and other customer attributes.
