Infor has purchased a stake in Predictix, a cloud-based retail business applications provider, with an option to purchase the company in full. Predictix works with some of the largest global retailers, including Whole Foods and The Home Depot. Infor will merge the technology from Predictix and GT Nexus, which Infor acquired last year for $675m, into the technology solution that they are building with Whole Foods … almax analytics, artificial intelligence for capital markets, announced its debut to the FinTech world at the European Alternative Investment Funds Conference 2016. KPMG Luxembourg is the host of almax analytics at the event where they seek to identify the leading FinTech companies for Innovation in 2016 … In less than 20 months after raising its first round of growth capital, SHYFT Analytics, a leader in cloud data management and guided analytics for global life sciences, has grown to over 100 employees and more than doubled the number of Life Sciences customers as it closes out a breakout year.  Marked by a 100 percent increase in software subscriptions, new customers include both large pharma companies as well as emerging biotech firms. The SaaS-based company’s exceptional growth has also led to an increase in office space from 12,000 to 25,000 square feet in Waltham, Massachusetts, with plans to expand operations to New York City and the West Coast in the 2016 … Idaciti is a potential game-changer for CFOs, a SaaS business intelligence platform … Romonet, a cloud-based big data analytics platform for the data center, enables senior executives and operational staff to precisely understand and control their true data center costs – ‘true’ being the key word as insight based on extremely accurate modelling and predictive analysis … MariaDB, a recognized leader in open-source relational database solutions for high availability, scalability, and performance with over nine million users, received a further $9 million in funding from Intel, California Technology Ventures and others to advance tech. development and accelerate sales. In addition, rumor has it that the company founder (and inventor of MySQL) Monty Widenius is stepping up as CTO and that Silicon Valley veteran Michael Howard will take over as CEO … Adaptive Insights, a leader in cloud corporate performance management (CPM) for the biggest brands and the hottest companies, has appointed Jim Johnson CFO as part of a broader leadership expansion plan. The company also expanded its board of directors with the appointment of Mark Templeton, former CEO of Citrix, bringing additional public and global company expertise to the company. Recognized as a high-growth leader with over 3,000 customers worldwide, Adaptive Insights continues to scale with the growing cloud CPM market … Captricity Inc., the Oakland-based Data-as-a-Service platform startup that gives customers in regulated industries fast and easy access to customer data trapped in handwritten forms, closed a $35 million Series C round of financing led by White Mountains Insurance Group, LTD. (NYSE: WTM). Existing investors Social Capital and Accomplice also participated in the round. The latest round of funding brings Captricity’s total funds raised to $49 million … MapR Technologies, Inc., provider of the converged data platform that integrates the power of Hadoop and Spark with global event streaming, real-time database capabilities, and enterprise storage, was among the select companies that Forrester Research, Inc. invited to participate in its January 2016 report entitled, The Forrester Wave™: Big Data Hadoop Distributions, Q1 2016 … Saama announces its inaugural industry conference, Intuition 2016, on February 18 bringing together the top analytics business leaders, executives and analysts to explore how big data will shape the analytics industry this year … Just heard that Qubole, the big data-as-a-service company, has closed a $30 million Series C financing, bringing its total funding to $50 million. IVP led the financing and General Partner Somesh Dash will join the Qubole board of directors. Existing investors CRV, Lightspeed Venture Partners and Norwest Venture Partners invested additional capital into the company as part of the financing … Hush, just got some juicy industry gossip – data scientists just earned the number one spot in Glassdoor’s Top 25 Jobs in the U.S! … SnapLogic, a leading enterprise integration platform as a service (iPaaS) for big data, and Intricity, a leading data management consultancy, announced a new program designed to help innovative IT leaders accelerate cloud and big data adoption within their organizations. The 3-day Integration Modernization Assessment will outline the steps for transitioning from legacy data and application technologies to a modern platform, paving the way for faster, easier integrations, reduced costs and increased return on cloud investments … Rumor has it that Metis acquired Booz Allen Hamilton’s Explore Data Science program – a leading online resource designed for individuals interested in learning basic data science concepts and techniques. An interactive and gamified program, Explore Data Science was originally created by Booz Allen Hamilton to train its team of nearly 600 data science professionals and serves as an excellent resource for programmers, mathematicians, and other professionals looking to expand their data science expertise … Heard on the street that SIOS Technology Corp., the maker of SANLess clustering software and new machine learning-based analytics software for optimizing IT operations in VMware environments, is opening new offices at 2 Clock Tower Place in the historic Mill & Main complex in Maynard, MA. The new Boston-area office will house expanded marketing, sales and leadership functions to accommodate the company’s rapid growth and plans for future expansion … Tableau Software launched a new data center in Dublin, Ireland.  This marks Tableau’s first European-based data center and underscores its expanding cloud analytics capabilities, as well as its continued commitment to data users in Europe and around the world … Heard that Geotab , a leader in telematics with more than 450,000 vehicles in 70 countries on its roster of users, has acquired one of its most innovative partners: Maps BI. Founded in 2013 under parent company Inovex Inc., Maps BI provides customers with an unparalleled level of enhanced visualization to better assist in the analysis of Big Data. Maps BI executives Mike Branch, CEO, Bob Bradley, CTO, and Bernard Cheng, Lead Developer, officially joined Geotab’s dynamic staff on Jan. 11, 2016.
