syncfusion_logo_squareSyncfusion, Inc., a developer solutions company, announced the production release of the Syncfusion Big Data Platform, a collection of big data tools and frameworks that now includes support for Apache Spark, Apache HBase, and Scientific Python. It is also the first and only Hadoop distribution designed for Windows.

We are very excited to declare the Syncfusion Big Data Platform a comprehensive, standalone big data solution for live production environments,” said Daniel Jebaraj, vice president of Syncfusion. “Its robust feature set and wide-ranging support for tools like Apache Spark, HBase, Pig, and Hive make it a vital component for big data computing on Windows. Furthermore, the numerous enhancements that have led to this release make it a great option for on-premise and cloud-based cluster deployment.”

This update bundles together many significant enhancements, most notably support for Apache Spark and Apache HBase, as well as Scientific Python integration. Other improvements to the Syncfusion Big Data Platform include:

  •     Direct support for managing Oozie jobs.
  •     Improved integration with Syncfusion’s machine learning runtime.
  •     Support to create and manage pseudo-node Hadoop clusters.
  •     Enhanced HDFS file browser usability.

Since its initial beta release in September of 2014, the Syncfusion Big Data Platform has delivered a complete environment for creating full clusters on commodity hardware and running Hadoop jobs on them in a scalable manner, all within the familiar workspace of Windows. The easy-to-use installers and visual development tools greatly ease the learning curve for working with data. Plus, developers can write Hadoop jobs in their language of choice, with support for Java, Hive, Python, Scala, C#, or any other .NET platform language.

Syncfusion Big Data Platform is currently available to Syncfusion Plus members at no extra cost, and non-members can download a free 30-day trial at www.syncfusion.com/downloads/bigdata.
