Qubole_logoQubole, the big data as-a-service company, announced today it will be extending its customer support services with the launch of Qubole Education, an extensive resource to empower data users throughout an organization with the skills needed to successfully implement a cloud-based data project. Qubole’s cloud-agnostic big data platform allows users to implement the right data engine for the job, but it also recognizes that its users may not be trained on each to the level needed to successfully integrate each into a project. Qubole Education offers technical trainings ranging from beginner to advanced for users on the data, administrative and security teams to learn how to successfully implement a data program using the Qubole Data Service (QDS).

We understand that onboarding a new data solution and selecting the optimal functionality and data processing technology for a team or user can be a challenge. Qubole Education will act as a partner through new user onboarding and big data technology adoption within the organization,” said Jonathan Trail, vice president of customer success at Qubole. “As our customers continue to learn and master new technical skills, we are excited to see the innovative new ways our platform will be implemented.”

QDS, a cloud-based big data solution, is fundamentally changing how data teams are structured with the first self-service offering that automatically spins up a compute cluster in the cloud to match the needs of the particular job, and then winds down nodes when they’re no longer needed. This automation reduces the number of system admins needed to and average of one for every 21 data scientists, and up to hundreds of users per single administrator, and opens up data to a larger pool of users.

Wikia has analysts and product managers with varying degrees of experience using big data tools. Beyond simplifying the management and improving the usability of our big data cloud infrastructure, Qubole’s training program has helped with the onboarding of our key decision makers – users who rely on data processed through Qubole every day,” said Christian MacLean, senior product manager of data engineering and analytics at Wikia. “Qubole went above and beyond in training, hosting in-person sessions so each employee received hands-on experience with the platform, regardless of their experience level.”

As part of the customer onboarding process, Qubole Training Engineers are available for either remote or in-person delivery, and will also offer monthly public webinars for select courses. Courses feature presentations, demonstration and labs with all students receiving written materials to supplement the discussions.
