Print Friendly, PDF & Email

A new research report is now available describing how organizations are approaching IoT transformation. The Enterprise Lacks a Big Data Strategy for IoT Transformation by Verizon and Harvard Business Review Analytic Services, explores how companies are currently using IoT to improve customer experience and increase efficiency, the challenges they’re facing as they struggle to handle the volume, variety and velocity of big data. The full report is available for download HERE, but some key findings include:

  • Organizations have great expectations of IoT: 52% aim to create new services based on IoT and 44% aim to use IoT to transform their business model.
  • But they’re currently using just a fraction of IoT data: 78% are only acting on a limited amount of IoT data—or aren’t using any at all.
  • They don’t have the necessary infrastructure: Organizations are struggling with the collection and analysis of IoT data in near-real time. 78% say new networking technologies are important to their big data strategies.
