Visualizing Modern History with the SGI UV Supercomputer

In this video, Kalev Leetaru from the University of Illinois discusses the creation of the first-ever historical mapping and exploration of the fulltext contents of the English-language edition of Wikipedia, in time and space, with visualization of modern history captured in its four million pages, in under a day. The work was made possible by the large-memory SGI UV 2000 supercomputer.
