CrowdFlower Launches New Open Data Initiative

crowdflower_logoCrowdFlower, a leading data enrichment platform for data scientists, today announced Data for Everyone, a new open data initiative that gives public access to thousands of dollars’ worth of Rich Data that is fully deduped, organized and cleaned by CrowdFlower’s people-powered platform of over 5 million contributors.

With Data for Everyone, CrowdFlower is releasing the largest human-curated data repository currently available to the public. As part of the initiative, CrowdFlower is giving customers the opportunity to open their rich datasets and share their knowledge with the community at large, making it easier for anyone to access and discover valuable data that is current and usable.

The Data for Everyone Library, a newly expanded resource center for Rich Data, will include diverse datasets that range across industries. Examples include: language sets built around issues of cyberbullying, foreign language sets about what politicians say about immigration, image annotation datasets within the biomedical field, sentiment analysis data and more.

As part of the announcement, CrowdFlower is also unveiling a new pricing structure , which offers customers the flexibility to select from two packages. The “Data for Everyone” package gives users the option to use the CrowdFlower platform with no annual licensing fee. With this package, customers agree to share their data within the Data for Everyone Library. The “CrowdFlower Pro” package offers enterprises with larger datasets the ability to run as many data rows as needed, as well as access to full customer support. Under “CrowdFlower Pro,” all customer data is kept private and secure.
