Cloudwick, a leading enterprise Open Source Systems Integrator and Managed Service Provider to the Global 1000, announced at Hadoop Summit today its newest service, called Cloudwick Insight™ for Hadoop. Cloudwick Insight™ for Hadoop is an assessment service that uses Pepperdata, a leader in Apache Hadoop and Spark performance optimization, to analyze Hadoop jobs by CPU, RAM, disk I/O, and network utilization.

No matter how much you optimize individual jobs and tune your cluster using Hadoop parameters, Hadoop just won’t let you achieve the kind of throughput needed to be competitive,” said Mani Chhabra, Cloudwick CEO and founder. “Global 1000 enterprises rely on Cloudwick to maintain Cloudera and Hortonworks clusters. Cloudwick Insight for Hadoop helps us deliver and provide our clients with visibility in order to get maximum performance.”

Hadoop doesn’t monitor or control the usage of disk I/O and network at all; jobs that saturate disks or network can interfere with other jobs and slow them down significantly. Cloudwick Insight for Hadoop overcomes this challenge by allowing Cloudwick to assess and recommend how to optimize performance on all facets of Hadoop performance, including CPU, memory, disk I/O, and network by user, job, and task, in real time.

Cloudwick has a fantastic reputation and reach in the big data space, so we’re excited about the new Cloudwick Insight for Hadoop service rollout,” said Sean Suchter, CEO and cofounder of Pepperdata. “Cloudwick’s expertise combined with Pepperdata’s visibility will give Global 1000 organizations actionable insight into maximizing the performance of their Hadoop clusters.”
