A new report was released by our friend over at Leverton, a data extraction startup recently acquired by MRI Solutions, titled "AI in the Enterprise: Trends & Insights on Vendor Selection and Implementation." The report lends insight into the experiences and preferences of "leaders," "lookers," and "laggards" (defined below) when it comes to AI deployment.
-
“Leaders”
-
Those who are either actively using or currently implementing AI-based technology
-
Saw saving money was the number one reason for AI deployment in this group (31.5%)
-
-
“Lookers”
-
Those either piloting or undergoing the selection process for AI-based technology
-
Believed that shortening work processes was the primary reason cited (25.9%), and most notably, this group selected reducing headcount significantly more than did the other groups (22.2% vs. 9% overall).
-
-
“Laggards”
-
Those considering implementing AI based technology but had yet to make a decision
-
Facilitating data analysis was the most common response (26.3%). And, perhaps not surprisingly, the proportion of “I don’t know” responses in this group was nearly four times the average (15.8% vs. 4%)
