Zettaset announced today that the company has been awarded their first patent for “split brain resistant fail-over in high availability Hadoop clusters;” patent number 8,595,546; issued on November 26, 2013.  Zettaset’s newly patented technology provides a future-proof approach to high-availability and ensures that automatic failover is applied to all services running in a Hadoop cluster, as well as any new Hadoop services that may be introduced in the future.  Zettaset’s high-availability technology has been included as a core component of the Orchestrator enterprise software suite for Hadoop management and security since its initial release over two years ago.

Zettaset, a leader in secure Big Data Management, also recently announced a partnership with MicroStrategy and a corresponding new BI Connector product update, which extends enterprise-class security and multi-service high availability to the business intelligence/analytics application user interface and data sets, protecting them from vulnerabilities that exist in all open source Hadoop distributions.

Zettaset Orchestrator™ is a Big Data management solution designed to address enterprise requirements for comprehensive enterprise-class security, multi-service high availability, and cluster manageability in Hadoop’s distributed computing environment. And now users of business intelligence and analytics applications can also benefit from our latest software release. Orchestrator 6 extends data encryption, fine-grained access control, and security policy enforcement to analytics applications without impacting performance, while safely and securely enabling analytics apps and their users to take full advantage of the scalability and flexibility of Hadoop.
